Our client, a growing logistics organization operating within the ocean and air freight sector, is currently seeking an experienced and commercially focused General Manager to develop and lead their new branch in Poland. This is a key strategic role for a candidate with a strong sales mindset, hands‑on approach, and the ability to build and scale operations. Location: Gdynia or Gdańsk.

The Role
In this position, you will be responsible for establishing the branch in Gdynia or Gdańsk, shaping its commercial and operational strategy, and driving business growth through direct client acquisition and team development. You will play a crucial role in transforming the organization into a more sales‑driven and performance‑oriented environment. You will lead a team of a few people and work closely with senior management. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the Polish market, with a strong focus on new business development.
  • Build and maintain your own portfolio of customers; actively engage in sales activities.
  • Lead ocean & air freight operations.
  • Ensure operational excellence while promoting a proactive, growth-oriented culture.
  • Oversee P&L, manage administrative processes as well as HR topics

Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in ocean and air freight forwarding, gained preferably in small or mid‑sized organisations.
  • Demonstrated commercial drive, entrepreneurial mindset and eagerness to develop business hands‑on.
  • Strong leadership skills combined with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach.
  • Solid understanding of financials, including P&L management and financial adjustments.
  • Fluent English.
  • Mobility and readiness to travel.
